“THE WORLD IS YOUR STAGE”

Our Company

ADI TOURS (our initials stand for “Arts Development International”) has been organizing international concert tours for choirs, orchestras, bands, and jazz ensembles, for the past 40 years. In addition, ADI TOURS provides customized INDIVIDUAL/SMALL GROUP tours to any destination overseas. Each year, our company sends hundreds of Americans abroad on specialized concert and Individual/Small Group tours. Today, ADI TOURS has established programs in over 50 countries in Europe, Mexico & Central & South America, Australia & New Zealand, Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia.

In addition, ADI TOURS has ongoing shared concert venues for choirs, orchestras, bands, and jazz ensembles in most of the 50+ countries in which it operates. The shared concert venue is an important ingredient in the company’s philosophy of true cultural exchange and, subsequently, ADI has established similar like-host organizations around the world sharing that same philosophy.

ADI TOURS’ International Headquarters are in Beaufort, SC, and the company maintains its own European offices in Prague and St. Petersburg (Russia), with affiliate offices and associates in all major capitals worldwide. ADI’s in-house travel agency, AD Travel, is a fully bonded, fully licensed member of IATAN, the International Travel Agency Network.

Our Staff

– ADI staff is comprised of trained musicians, educators, and travel specialists who have an uncommonly refined knowledge and understanding of the needs of performing ensembles abroad. They possess a unique combination of skills and experience and have a highly specialized training to plan and organize successful concerts for ensembles of varying sizes, repertoires, ages, and abilities. Touring ensemble Directors work most closely with an ADI designated Tour Consultant, in advising, coordinating, and facilitating their custom-designed tour.

In short, performing arts organizations that travel with ADI TOURS can be assured that they will benefit from our programming and travel expertise on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific. Because we do all of our travel arrangements in-house (including airline reservations, ticketing, hotels, sightseeing, transportation, etc.), ensembles are assured excellent quality control over all aspects of their tour.

We will arrange your airline reservations and ticketing, visa processing, and the handling of instruments, equipment, or costumes. You will have full access to an ADI TOURS Manager during your stay in the host country, and the continuing support of our staff in both our South Carolina Headquarters Office and International Offices.

There are not any “middlemen” in the ADI equation – everything is done personally by our staff – from the first evaluation planning meeting with your ADI Tour Consultant to an ADI Tour Manager accompanying the tour. This personal attention to each and every detail has built our sterling reputation. International Concert Tours are an experience – and ADI TOURS makes it a lifetime memory!

Choir Tours

ADI Choir Tours are designed specifically around your type of choir, choir member ages, repertoire, and choir abilities. Whether you are a youth choir, children’s choir, college/university choir, Show Choirs, church choir or community choir, every detail in your tour is unique and tailored to your choir’s goals and expectations.

Our music staff will discuss repertoire ideas to match your choir with the best appropriate concert settings and audiences. Non- “a cappella” choirs can always count on having an excellent and tuned piano at each concert venue. Rehearsal times are built into your itinerary with the number of concerts performed during your tour based upon each Director’s request.

For those choirs wishing to perform with a professional orchestra, ADI maintains a list of those orchestras and countries with whom we maintain long standing experience and relationships. Your ADI Tour Consultant will discuss with you options and possibilities.

Advertising, posters, and advance concert cultural listings are all part of your custom-designed concert tour program – nothing is a-la-carte – everything is included!

“THE WORLD IS YOUR STAGE”

Band Tours

Concert, Wind, and Marching Bands have always prized an international concert tour to expand their musicians cultural and musical worlds, to give their members first-hand experience in the rigors of touring, and to build an esprit and pride within their organization for recruitment and fundraising. There is nothing like a band tour abroad that can deliver those kinds of values!

Every detail of a band tour is scrutinized and implemented from the very beginning consulting session: repertoire, type of band (Concert, Wind, Marching), number of musicians, number of large instruments (percussion, sousaphone, etc…) and quantity of concerts. Based upon the Band Director and your ADI Tour Consultant discussions, a custom-designed tour itinerary is created to match your organization’s music goals, size, budget, and travel dates. Throughout your tour, an ADI Tour Manager will be with you and on-call for any support required, such as stage management, route logistics, field conditions, rehearsal scheduling, instrument repair assistance, and any other detail necessary for a successful concert and presentation.

Advertising, posters, and advance concert cultural listings are all part of your custom-designed concert tour program – nothing is a-la-carte – everything is included!

Because of higher airline fees for large instruments and the requirement of many airlines to ship your large instruments at least one-week prior to your scheduled tour departure date, many of our bands opt for a more practical and cost effective alternative – renting those large instruments in the country(ies) you will tour. Throughout your tour, all of your band instruments will be transported by only the most reputable trucking services – ensuring safe and damage-free delivery directly to your hotels and concert venues

Youth, College and Community Orchestras have always prized an international concert tour to expand their musicians cultural and musical worlds, to give their members first-hand experience in the rigors of touring, and to build an esprit and pride within their organization for recruitment and fundraising. Every detail of an orchestra tour is scrutinized and implemented from the very beginning consulting session: repertoire, type of orchestra (symphonic or chamber), number of musicians, number of large instruments (string basses, tympani, etc…) and quantity of concerts. Based upon the Orchestra Director and your ADI Tour Consultant discussions, a custom-designed tour itinerary is created to match your organization’s music goals, size, budget, and travel dates. Throughout your tour, an ADI Tour Manager will be with you and on-call for any support required, such as stage management, rehearsal scheduling, instrument repair assistance, and any other detail necessary for a successful concert presentation.

Jazz Ensembles Tours

Throughout the world, and particularly in Europe, Jazz concerts and Jazz ensembles are wildly appreciated. No longer is “Jazz” the special domain of Americans – the world has caught up and Jazz concerts are as popular as in the USA.

Every detail of a Jazz Ensemble tour is scrutinized and implemented from the very beginning consulting session: repertoire, type of Jazz Ensemble (Big Band, Progressive, etc…), number of musicians, sound equipment needed, and quantity of concerts. Based upon the Jazz Ensemble Director and your ADI Tour Consultant discussions, a custom-designed tour itinerary is created to match your ensemble’s music goals, size, budget, and travel dates. OUR CLIENTS SAY IT THE BEST!

“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Croatia for me and my students. Hotels were outstanding, travel arrangements were highly professional, city tour guides were extremely articulate and engaging experts, and our entire 10-day trip went off without one single issue. That’s extremely rare! I’ll definitely be working with ADI on my next trip!”

Dr. Ivan Fuller
Chair, Theater and Dance
Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts

“Taking almost 100 excited youngsters to Russia and the Czech Republic was a herculean effort, particularly since 99% of our band members had never been out of the USA. However, ADI Tours was phenomenal and in total control of every logistic on our tour. The concerts and audiences were unbelievable and really showed our students how their music could and did bridge all politics, cultural, and race differences. Our hats are off to ADI Tours – you are the best!”

Jack Knowles
Rapid City Central High School Band

“Once again, ADI Tours has outdone itself. Our Madrigal Singers have toured with ADI for many years and they have always provided our Singers with wonderful concert venues and appreciative audiences. Our recent tour to Belgium and France was superb!”

Maria di Palma
Simpson College Madrigal Singers

“WOW” is all I can say. The stunning symphony hall concert sites and the full-house audiences gave our young musicians an experience they will never forget. Our orchestra concert tour of Argentina was much more than a success – it was a life-changing moment for our students, staff, and for me, personally. Thank you ADI Tours!”

Robert Chase
Whitefish Bay High School String Orchestra

“The concerts ADI arranged during our recent tour to China were an inspiration to our chorus members and a source of acclaim for our University and Music Department. The concert halls and performing venues were magnificent and each of our performances were packed with enthusiastic audiences. In fact, at our last concert, the theater held 3,000 seats – and it was standing room only – an extraordinary experience!”

William Henry Caldwell
Central State University Chorus

“Before we left for our concert tour of Ireland and England, I was a bit nervous of how an American student jazz band would be received. Boy, was I in for a surprise! The audiences loved our jazz program and at every concert we had to play encores. ADI Tours did a fabulous job – concert halls, audiences, publicity, hotels, sightseeing, meals and personable guides throughout the tour were beyond our expectations – our best tour ever! BRAVO ADI Tours!”

Dennis Wrenn
Algonquin Regional High School Jazz Band

“Our choir has toured with ADI on 10 different tours, spanning 20+ different countries. ADI Tours personal care, support, and impeccable tour arrangements have made them our school’s #1 concert tour company and the reasons our choirs consistently travel and tour under their auspices, year-after-year!”

Philip Olsen
McDonogh School Concert Choir

“We’ve traveled to Romania, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia and China with ADI, and every detail of our tour was smoothly and professionally handled. They were also responsible for our invitation to perform in six cities in mainland China; a tremendous opportunity for our dancers.”

Herman Rottenberg
The All nations Dance Company

My colleague and I use ADI for our student Arts Abroad tours and we were thrilled with the extensive, more-than-required hands-on support we received. Let me make it clear: We have toured students abroad for 29 years AND WE ARE FUSSY!

What impressed us the most is that ADI has developed PERSONAL relationships with major venues and contacts abroad. They often know the people personally – a huge advantage over other agencies. ADI was always efficient, always giving the best prices, and always in touch.

Something that is VERY important to us, is that ADI is run by people who are highly cultured and educated in many different academic areas, from the arts to history to architecture to business.

We speak the same language! We recommend ADI Tours without the slightest hesitation.

Patrick Chmel
Adjunct Professor Emeritus
Rider University

As a director of an academic short-term college study abroad program for 30 years, our students study the arts in European capitals over a two-week January intercession – usually enrolling about 40 college students

You cannot find a better professional consulting and management travel team like ADI.They came through for us every time, met every requirement, and delivered many unexpected additions that made our tours unique.

Significantly, ADI prices routinely are lower than their competitors. In my mind they are the premiere travel experts in the business. They are the people who will ensure a successful, safe and memorable trip for your students. I can’t recommend them enough!

Dr. Jerry E. Rife, Chair of Fine Arts Department
Leader of The Arts Abroad Program, 1986-2016
